Dear Parents of 3rd – 5th grade students,

As a reminder, there is early dismissal for grades 3-5 tomorrow 29.10.2019 at 13:30. Conferences will take place between 16:00 – 20:00 as planned with your child’s homeroom teacher.

Grades EC – 2 have regular instruction and they will be released at 13:30 as usual. Grade 6 is on a class trip and is unaffected.

Additionally, a letter is coming home with your grade 3-5 students today regarding early dismissal on Wednesday, 06.11.2019.

Liebe Eltern der 3. – 5. Klassen,

wir möchten Sie daran erinnern, dass  die Klassenstufen 3 – 5. morgen 29.10.2019 aufgrund der Eltern-Lehrerkonferenzen um 13:30 Uhr frühzeitig entlassen werden. Die Eltern-Lehrerkonferenzen für die Klassen 3-5 finden der Zeit von 16:00 – 20:00 Uhr statt.

Die Klassenstufen EK – 2 werden wie gewohnt um 13:30 Uhr entlassen. Die 6. Klasse ist auf Klassenfahrt.

Heute bringt Ihr Kind ein Schreiben von der JFKS Schulleitung mit nach Hause mit mehr Information zu der frühzeitigen Entlassung wegen der Eltern-Lehrerkonferenzen am Mittwoch den 06.11.2019.

Dear parents, 

Grades EC-2: release at 13:05 as usual (Hort, Late Birds, bus, pick-up). Children who would have attended a 13:10 after-school activity sponsored by JFKS must be picked up or enrolled in an after-school program (Hort or Late Birds). 

This information can be found under JFKS Policies and Regulations.

Early Release Due to Hot Weather
Early release due to hot weather means that JFKS instruction and activities will end for all grade levels (EC-10) at 13:30. Students must leave campus, or remain in Hort or Late Birds. Grades 11-12 have regular instruction and will be not be released early.

Policy will take effect when temperature of 25°C is measured in any third floor ES classroom by 10:30. The decision to declare early release will be made at 10:30.

When the decision is made to declare early release, 7^th and 8^th hour as well as all after-school activities sponsored by JFKS will be cancelled. By 11:00, parents will be notified via email and an announcement will be made for all students and staff over the intercom in the school buildings. A notice will also be put on the front page of the JFKS website. The school will notify all necessary parties such as the caterers, bus company, Hort and Late Birds.

Supervision will be provided by JFKS for students not enrolled in Hort/Late Birds and who go home on school buses at 15:00. At 13:05, grades EC-2 are released as usual (Hort, Late Birds, bus, pick-up). Children who would have attended a 13:10 after school activity sponsored by JFKS must be picked up or enrolled in an after-school program (Hort or Late Birds). At 13:30, grades 3 -6 are released by their homeroom teacher following 10 minute homeroom. At 13:30, grades 7-10 are released. Grades 11-12 continue regular class schedules.

Elementary School: Grades 1-6 start school on Monday at 8:05.

Grade 1: Students meet the teachers in the FRONT of the school (at the JFKS mosaic). ‘Bus children’ will be sent from the bus ramp to the main gate to head to the mosaic.

Grade 2: Students go to the same classrooms as last year.

Grade 3: Students stop by the tables in front of the main entrance to look at the new class lists and meet the teachers.

Grade 4: Students go to the same classrooms as last year.

Grade 5: Class lists are posted in the red building entrance way.

Grade 6: Students go to the same classrooms as last year.

High School:

Grade 7 should report to the LARGE Aula at 8:00 (1st period).
Grade 8 should report to the SMALL Aula at 8:52 (2nd period).
Grade 9 should report to the LARGE Aula at 8:52 (2nd period).
Grade 10 should report to their homeroom teachers at 8:52.

Room assignments will be posted on the monitors in the Blue and White buildings.

Grades 11-12: Diploma and Abitur students pick up their schedules during 3rd period and report to their 4th period class at 10:37. Schedule pick up locations: Diploma students: Haus Reil – Abitur students: Frau Krüger (W115) and Herr Wiechert (W116).

Please note: Elementary School students who are not enrolled in Hort/Late Birds and who go home on school buses at 15:00 will be supervised in the ES Office until the bus leaves. There will be no supervision on campus and all other students who are not in Hort/Late Birds must leave the school grounds when they are released even if they have an activity (on campus or nearby) later in the afternoon. For more information regarding activities organized by the JFK Sports Club (gymnastics, swimming, taekwondo, etc.), other sport clubs or outside coaches (ballet, robotics, etc.) please contact the organizers directly to find out whether the activity takes place. 

Please check with your child’s homeroom teacher regarding any changes to field trips and picnics (locations, dismissal times, etc.)  

The ES talent show rehearsal will go on as planned on Thurs. 27.06.2019 in the large Aula from 12:00 – 15:00 hours.

High School

Grade 7-11 on June 25: release at 13:05.

Grundschule:

Klassen EK-2: werden wie gewohnt um 13:05 Uhr entlassen (Hort, Late Birds, bus, oder abgeholt). Schüler, die ansonsten um 13:10 Uhr an JFKS-Aktivitäten teilnehmen, müssen abgeholt werden oder im Hort/Late Birds angemeldet werden. 

Klassen 3-6: werden frühzeitig um 13:30 (nach 10-minute homeroom) vom Klassenlehrer entlassen. 

Bitte beachten: Grundschüler/innen, die nicht im Hort/Late Birds sind und mit dem 15:00 Bus nach Hause fahren, werden bis zur Abfahrt im Sekretariat der Grundschule beaufsichtigt. Alle anderen Schüler*innen, die nicht im Hort/Late Birds angemeldet sind, müssen die Schule nach Schulschluss verlassen, auch wenn sie eine Aktivität am späten Nachmittag ab (auf dem Schulgelände oder in der Nähe), denn es gibt keine Aufsicht auf dem Schulgelände! Für Information, ob andere Aktivitäten stattfinden, wenden Sie sich bitte direkt an die nicht-schulischen Organisatoren: JFKS Sports Club (Turnen, Schwimmen, Taekwondo, usw.), andere Sportvereine und Trainer für Ballett, Robotics, usw.

Bitte wenden Sie sich an die Klassenlehrer Ihrer Kinder, um Änderungen von Ausflügen und Picknicks zu erfahren (Ort, Entlassungszeiten, usw.)
