In an effort to encourage our students to “REUSE, REDUCE and RECYCLE“, we strongly recommend that all school supplies are labeled with the students’ names and for students to reuse supplies from last year as much as possible.
Though plastic folders have been requested by many lower Elementary School teachers for durability and size reasons, please keep in mind that if only 500 students at JFKS decided to each purchase 5 paper folders instead of plastic, that would total 2,500 folders of non-plastic folders! Contributions to Learning Materials (Grades 7-12)
As in the last school years, we continue to be requested by the Senate to collect the parent contribution for learning materials for students in the 7-12 grades. The participation is legally required according to the Berlin school law (§ 50 Abs. 2 Schulgesetz Berlin). The contribution can be up to 100 EUR per student however, we plan to remain below this maximum amount.
Therefore, we have identified a few learning materials per grade level that we would like you to purchase by the beginning of the new school year.

Families with a Berlin Pass (BuT), receiving social welfare, housing benefits, or federal student aid will be exempted from payment for learning materials. Please present the relevant documents to Frau Borschel, Business Manager (Room W124). The papers must be valid up to and including August 1, 2026. If you would like to take advantage of this arrangement, please contact us as soon as possible.The learning materials will then be provided by the school. There will be no refund for materials already purchased!
