| Nachricht von der Schulleitung Senatorin Scheeres informierte gestern die Öffentlichkeit über das nächste Schuljahr. Wie Sie vielleicht schon gehört haben, wird die Schule “normal” beginnen – für JFKS am Montag, den 17. August. Wir werden in allen Fächern zu normalen Klassengrößen und zum normalen Unterricht zurückkehren können. Hygienemaßnahmen wie häufiges Händewaschen und Lüften werden beibehalten, die Abstandsanforderungen von 1,50m nicht. In Fächern wie Sport und Musik werden wir jedoch engen Kontakt vermeiden und wann immer möglich nach draußen gehen. Die Schulen sind jedoch verpflichtet, einen Plan B für den Fall zu haben, dass die Schule oder Teile der Schule schließen müssen. Dieser Plan B beinhaltet einen wöchentlichen Online-Plan für die Schülerinnen und Schüler zu Hause, wobei die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer mindestens zweimal pro Woche mit den Schülerinnen und Schülern in Kontakt treten. Daher wird die Grundschule am Montag, dem 29. Juni, einen Workshop-Tag abhalten, um unsere Online-/ Distance Learning -Prozesse zu verbessern. Da sich verschiedene Klassenstufen zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten auf dem Campus befinden und um die Hygienemaßnahmen einzuhalten, werden die Zeugnisse am Ende des letzten regulären Schultages auf dem Campus wie folgt verteilt: — Eingangsklassen: an ihrem jeweiligen letzten Schultag in den Wochen vom 15. oder 22. Juni. — Klassen 1 und 5: Donnerstag, 25. Juni — Klasse 4: Freitag, 26. Juni — Klassen 2 und 3: Dienstag, 30. Die Pläne für die Oberschule werden bald veröffentlicht. | Message from the Administration Senator Frau Scheeres informed the public yesterday about the next school year. As you may have already heard, school will start “normal” – for JFKS on Monday, August 17th. We will be able to go back to normal class sizes and instruction in all subjects. Hygienic measures such as frequent hand washing and open windows will continue, the distance requirements of 1,50m will not. In subjects such as Sport and Music we will, however, avoid close contact and go outside whenever possible. With that said, schools are required to have a plan B in case the school or sections of the school have to close. This plan B includes a weekly online plan for the students at home with the teachers checking in with the students at least twice a week. Therefore, the ES will have a Workshop Day on Monday, June 29 to improve our online/distance learning processes. Since different grade levels are on campus at different times and in order to adhere to hygiene measures, report cards will get distributed at the end of the last regular, on-campus school day as follows: — Entrance Classes: on their respective last day of school in the weeks of June 15 or 22. — Grade 1 and 5: Thursday, June 25 — Grade 4: Friday, June 26 — Grade 2 and 3: Tuesday, June 30 Click here to review the updated schedule for the last weeks of instruction of the elementary school. | 6. Klasse Veranstaltungen Für die Sechstklässler werden am Freitag, den 26. Juni, Vorträge zum Thema Übergang in die 7. Klasse in der Aula abgehalten: Schüler/innen mit Muttersprache Englisch: 8:30-10:00 Schüler/innen mit Muttersprache Deutsch: 10:30-12:00 Die Brückenzeremonie ist für Mittwoch, den 1. Juli, geplant. Separate Pläne mit Zeitfenstern für jede Klasse werden von den Klassenlehrern nach Hause geschickt. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler erhalten ihre Zeugnisse als Teil der Zeremonie. | Grade 6 Events 6th graders will attend a transition meeting in the Aula on Friday, June 26: English Mother Tongue students: 8:30-10:00 German Mother Tongue students: 10:30-12:00 The Bridge Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 1. Separate plans with time slots for each class will be sent home via the homeroom teachers. Students will receive their report cards as part of the ceremony. |
| Musik auf dem Campus Am Freitag (12. Juni) werden Klarinettisten des Konzerthausorchesters auf unserem Campus sein. Sie werden ein kurzes Konzert für die Schülerinnen und Schüler spielen, wenn diese die Lunchpakete erhalten und sich auf die “Punkte” vor der Cafeteria setzen, um die schöne Musik zu hören. Wir hoffen, dass sie dieses besondere Konzert genießen werden! -Dr. Curtis | Music on Campus On Friday (the 12th of June) clarinet players from the Konzerthausorchester will be on our campus. They will play a short concert for students as they are preparing to go home for the day. | Oberschule: Schülerausweise Aufgrund der fortbestehenden Kontaktbeschränkungen und einzuhaltenden Abstandsregelungen im Rahmen der Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Corona-Pandemie ist davon auszugehen, dass bis zum Ende des laufenden Schuljahres 2019/20 keine Fotoaktionen zur Herstellung von Schülerausweisen im Scheckkartenformat stattfinden können. Aus diesem Anlass wird die Gültigkeit der bereits vorhandenen Schülerausweise ausnahmsweise bis zum Ende dieses Kalenderjahres (31.12.2020) automatisch verlängert. Sollte Ihr Kind dennoch einen neuen Schülerausweis brauchen, kommen Sie bitte mit einem Passfoto ins Sekretariat. | High School: Student IDs Due to the continuing contact restrictions and distance regulations to be observed as part of the measures to contain the corona pandemic, there will be no photo taken by the school photographer for the production of student IDs in the credit card format for the upcoming school year 2020-2021. Für eine VERLÄNGERUNG senden Sie bitte den alten Schülerausweis sofern noch ein Stempelfeld frei ist. — Sie können einen frankierten und adressierten Umschlag beilegen, damit wir Ihnen den fertigen Ausweis nach Hause schicken können. ODER — wir können Ihnen den fertigen Ausweis per Senatspost nach Hause schicken – was sich verzögern kann und manchmal unzuverlässig ist. | Elementary School: Student IDs For a NEW ID send ONE passport size picture of your child with name and homeroom to the ES office (either by regular mail or into the dropbox in front of the office doors). For an ID RENEWAL send the old student ID to the ES office as long as there is still one empty box for a stamp. — You can include a stamped and pre-addressed envelope so we can mail the finished ID to your house OR — we can mail the finished ID to your house using Senat mail – which is delayed and sometimes unreliable. |
