Like every year, the final of the German reading competition took place in the ES Library. We had four strong candidates from the 6th grade German Mother Tongue classes: Nami, Lauryn, Una and Magda.
All participants first read from a book of their own choice for 3 minutes. Next came the surprise text – all students read from a book picked out by Frau Lange which they didn’t know beforehand. It was called “Opa, Kaspar und der Monsterhecht” and was very exciting.
Our distinguished jury, our Managing Director Herr Roth, ES librarian Frau Lage, Berlin 2016 winner Matilda Ontrop and actress Ursula Karven had a hard time making their final decision.
School winner is Magdalena Brouwer from 6b. She will now represent our school in the district finals. Congratulations, Magda! Much success at the Steglitz-Zehlendorf finals!!!
