JFK on three – one, two three!
Another tournament meant another great run for the JFKS girls’ basketball team on March 1st in Charlottenburg. Despite this being the first season of playing together, the ladies showed fantastic team dynamics and started the day off with two dominant wins. Every one of them stepped out of their comfort zones to contribute to an overall truly admirable performance. After already having played two games, the players showed absolutely no signs of fatigue and still had the drive as well as determination to put up a relentless fight against one of the city’s top schools. They stunned the crowd and opponents by taking the lead multiple times and playing beautiful basketball on both ends of the floor. In the end, the team fell just short of first place but walked away with a smile and a punched ticket to the league finals later this March.
Congratulations ladies and a massive thank you for making the JFKS community proud once again. Good luck for the finals!

Berlin Basketball Finals „Jugend trainiert für Olympia“ Girls WK III
A big thank you goes out to the talented ladies of JFKS basketball who did a fantastic job representing our school last week at the Berlin Championships. They earned a well-deserved silver medal, making the coaching team very proud.
Against a clearly more experienced team, the players fought until the very end, putting up a great performance on both the offensive and defensive ends and collectively excelled, stepping out of their comfort zones and playing better than ever before.

Message from the HS Administration
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 1700 to 2030 we will be having High School Parent Teacher conferences. These are designed primarily for students having difficulties or issues in certain classes. This year we are attaching the teacher room numbers directly to the teacher names, so parents can more easily know where to go. (thanks to Herr Henning for this improvement)
The link I will provide here is still closed. This link for registration for the conferences on Wednesday, Feb 15, 2017 will open on Feb. 9, 2017 at 6:00 a.m. and close on Feb. 14, 2017 at 11:55 a.m.

Parents who have not scheduled a conference, but have concerns about their child’s progress may contact a staff member via e-mail. Addresses can be found here. Teachers will be present only for conferences scheduled in advance. Teacher room assignment will also be shown on the monitors in the Blue and White Buildings during conferences, in case parents forget their computer print out of their schedule.
Reminder: HS students will be dismissed at 1:05 pm on Feb. 15! And please note that we will record the IP-adress of all registrations made.

Der 30. Mai 2017 ist nun offiziell durch das ED und den Bezirk als zusätzlicher Lehrer-Workshop-Tag genehmigt worden. Dies bedeutet, dass an diesem Tag für Grund- und Oberschule kein Unterricht stattfindet.

May 30, 2017 has now been officially approved as additional teacher workshop day by the ED and the district. This means that there will be no instruction for both elementary and high school on that day.
