Dear Elementary School Parents,
We were notified of another positive case of COVID-19 at the Elementary School in Grade 3. Due to German data privacy laws and confidentiality, we are unable to tell you the name of the students. Immediately following our notification, we consulted with the Berlin Health Authorities (Gesundheitsamt) regarding the specific actions that we must take to ensure the safety of all employees and students.
We immediately contacted the Gesundheitsamt (health office) for guidance and began contact tracing to determine the students who must quarantine. The 6 families were notified accordingly. Due to the school’s hygiene concept, the Berlin Health Authority (Gesundheitsamt) has decided that other students and teachers do not need to quarantine.
It is important for our children and our community that we handle this information calmly and reasonably. Thank you for your continued support.

Liebe Eltern der Grundschule,
wir wurden über einen weiteren positiven COVID-19-Fall in der 3. Klasse der Grundschule informiert. Aufgrund der deutschen Datenschutzgesetze und Verschwiegenheitspflicht ist es uns nicht möglich, Namen zu veröffentlichen. Unmittelbar nach unserer Benachrichtigung haben wir uns mit dem Gesundheitsamt Steglitz-Zehlendorf über die konkreten Maßnahmen beraten, die wir ergreifen müssen, um die Sicherheit aller Mitarbeiter und Schüler_innen zu gewährleisten.
Wir haben sofort das Gesundheitsamt kontaktiert, um uns beraten zu lassen und haben mit der Kontaktverfolgung begonnen, um die Schülerinnen und Schüler zu identifizieren, die sich in Quarantäne begeben müssen. Die Eltern von 6 Kindern wurden von der Schule kontaktiert. Aufgrund des Hygienekonzepts der Schule, hat das Gesundheitsamt entschieden, dass alle anderen Schülerinnen und Schüler sich nicht in Quarantäne begeben müssen.
Es ist für die Kinder sowie unsere Community wichtig, dass wir ruhig und sachlich mit der Situation umgehen. Vielen Dank für Ihre Unterstützung.
