Changes to Orientation Day (August 14)

Dear JFKS Community,

As our message from last week stated, we have been working through a myriad of topics to get our campus ready for students and faculty to come back to school.  One of the topics is Orientation Day, for both 7th grade students and new students to JFKS.

7th Grade Orientation Day on August 14 is cancelled

Students will receive the information usually addressed during orientation on the first day of school on August 17. We are working on a modified ‘First Day of School’ for all students but particularly 7th grade. More information will be shared on our website in the coming days.

New Student Orientation on August 14 will take place as follows:

High School

Newly admitted students in grades 7-12 should report to the School at 13:40 and plan to stay until about 15:30. They will be directed at the gate to the appropriate rooms.  Due to Corona restrictions, HS Orientation on campus will be for students only. Parents are not allowed on campus during that time. Thank you for your cooperation. Please note: Masks should be worn on campus and should only be removed during orientation when instructed by JFKS staff or student ambassadors.

Elementary School

Newly admitted students in grades 1-6 have been invited to attend the orientation at 13:30 in the large Aula with one parent per child, to limit the number of people. After a short introduction, students and the accompanying parent will be able to meet the homeroom teacher and see the classroom. Please note: Masks should be worn on campus and should only be removed during orientation when instructed by JFKS staff.

Unfortunately, our normal routine to welcome new students with refreshments, info materials, school shop items with the support of the Verein and our Parent Council had to be canceled. We hope to reinstate this tradition again next year! Equally, information about high school lockers and lock distribution will be published at a later date.

Once again, we appreciate your patience and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming back all students in a safe and secure environment.

Best regards,

JFKS Administration
