First semester report cards for grades 2 to 10 will be distributed on Friday, February 2nd. Please check that your child brings one home on that day. Note: Students in grades EC and 1 will only receive a report card at the end of the school year and students in grades 11 and 12 already received their report cards on December 20th.
All students will be dismissed at 10:35 a.m. on Friday, February 2nd, the last day before winter break.
There is no school during the following week. School resumes on Monday, February 12th.
The bear was donated to Berlin by Eunice Kennedy-Shriver (JFK’s sister). It was on display outside the Mercedes Benz Center and has now been gifted to us. The colorful bear statue is 3m x 3m and will greet students and families as they walk through the front gate. If all goes according to plan, the bear will be put in place over our February vacation. It is not a simple process and it involves trucks and cranes to reassemble the 454 kg sculpture.
Stanford testing in January for grades 5 and 8
Testing for the 5th grade will take place over several days between January 18-24. The 8th grade testing will take place in the Aula on January 30 and 31 from 8:00-11:30. Information letters will be sent home.
Note for High School
Tuesday, Jan 30: NO SCHOOL for high school students, except 8th grade and 10th grade.
8th grade: Stanford Test, 10th grade: MSA Presentations
Wednesday, Jan 31: regular school day for all High School students, but 8th graders take Part 2 of the Stanford Test.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and we are excited to see that a number of them are already participating! We would like to encourage you to drop off your children at the designated starting points on Wednesdays, instead of driving them all the way to school.
