Congrats, U-14 Badminton Team!
Beim Badminton-Landesfinale im Rahmen von “Jugend trainiert für Olympia & Paralympics” trafen sich die besten Berliner Schulmannschaften der Wettkampfklasse U14 in der Max-Schmeling-Halle zu einem intensiven und spannenden Turniertag. Insgesamt fünf Teams dieser Wettkampfklasse aus Berlin kämpften um die Platzierungen und boten ein starkes Teilnehmerfeld.
Viele der teilnehmenden SpielerInnen sind auch im Verein aktiv, was sich in der hohen Spielqualität deutlich widerspiegelte. Die Begegnungen waren dementsprechend von schnellen Ballwechseln, taktisch klugen Spielzügen und großem Einsatz geprägt. Mehrere Partien gingen über die volle Distanz von drei Sätzen, wobei es in den entscheidenden dritten Sätzen immer wieder zu spannenden Verlängerungen kam.
Besonders aufregend war die Atmosphäre in der Halle, da parallel auch Highschool-Teams ihre Platzierungsspiele austrugen. Dadurch herrschte den ganzen Tag über eine lebendige und sportlich geprägte Stimmung auf und neben den Spielfeldern.
Für die SchülerInnen der 6. Jahrgangsstufe war das Turnier nicht nur sportlich anspruchsvoll, sondern auch körperlich sehr fordernd. Über mehrere Stunden hinweg standen zahlreiche Einzel- und Doppelspiele auf dem Programm, die den Teilnehmenden alles abverlangten.
Am Ende erreichte unser U14-JFKS-Team einen respektablen 4. Platz von insgesamt fünf Mannschaften. Trotz der Platzierung konnten die SpielerInnen wertvolle Wettkampferfahrung sammeln und bewiesen großen Teamgeist sowie Fairness auf dem Feld.
Der Turniertag in der Max-Schmeling-Halle bleibt somit als kräftezehrender, aber zugleich spannender und lehrreicher Wettkampf in Erinnerung – und als motivierender Schritt für kommende sportliche Herausforderungen.

At the Badminton State Finals as part of “Youth Training for the Olympics & Paralympics,” the best Berlin school teams in the U14 competition met at the Max-Schmeling-Halle for an intense and exciting day of tournament play. A total of five teams from Berlin in this competition class battled it out for the top spots and provided a strong field of participants.
Many of the participating players are also active in clubs, which was clearly reflected in the high quality of play. The matches were characterized by fast rallies, clever tactical moves, and great commitment. Several matches went the full distance of three sets, with the decisive third sets repeatedly leading to exciting tiebreaks.
The atmosphere in the hall was particularly exciting, as high school teams were also playing their placement matches at the same time. This created a lively and sporting atmosphere on and off the courts throughout the day.
For the 6th grade students, the tournament was not only challenging from a sporting point of view, but also very demanding physically. Numerous singles and doubles matches were scheduled over several hours which demanded everything from the participants.
In the end, our U14 JFKS team achieved a respectable 4th place out of a total of five teams. Despite their ranking, the players gained valuable competitive experience and demonstrated great team spirit and fairness on the field.
The tournament day at the Max-Schmeling-Halle will therefore be remembered as an exhausting but exciting and instructive competition—and as a motivating step toward future sporting challenges.
