It’s that time! Time to look under the bed, on your bookshelves and in your room for library books. If you are leaving the JFK Elementary School this summer, please make sure you return all items!

Friday, 10 June: All books, CDs, DVDs and magazines are due from 6th grade students. All student chromebooks / chromebook carts and student Senat tablets need to be turned in for inventory.

Monday, 20 June – Friday, 24 June: Summer book checkout during library classes except 6th grade.  6th grade – You must have returned all books or paid for missing/damaged books to participate in the bridge ceremony.

Wednesday, 22 June: Parent hour is extended until 16:30 for parent summer checkout. Up to 10 items can be checked out.

Monday, 27 June- Friday, 1 July: No library classes and library is not open for book checkout. Librarians will be conducting inventory and hosting a used book sale.

Es ist wieder soweit! Jetzt ist Zeit, unter dem Bett, in euren Bücherregalen und in euren Zimmern nach Büchereibüchern zu suchen. Solltest du die Grundschule diesen Sommer verlassen,  müssen alle Artikel vorher zurückgegeben werden!

Freitag, 10. Juni:  Die Sechstklässler müssen alle Bücher, CDs, DVDs und Zeitschriften abgeben. Alle von den Schüler_innen benutzten Chromebooks/Chromebook Carts sowie die Tablet Computer des Senats müssen zurückgegeben werden.

Montag, 20. Juni – Freitag, 24. Juni: Lesestoff für den Sommer kann während der Unterrichtsstunden in der Bibliothek ausgeliehen werden. Sechstklässler – Um an der ‚Bridge Ceremony‘ teilzunehmen, müssen alle Bücher zurückgegeben bzw. für verlorene/beschädigte Bücher bezahlt worden sein.

Mittwoch, 22.Juni: Die ‚Parent Hour‘ wird bis 16:30 Uhr verlängert. Über den Sommer können bis zu 10 Bücher ausgeliehen werden.

Montag, 27. Juni – Freitag, 1. Juli: Es finden keine Unterrichtsstunden in der Bibliothek und keine Ausleihe statt. Die Bibliothekare führen eine Inventur durch und veranstalten einen Verkauf gebrauchter Bücher.

The JFKS Flea Market finally returned to our campus!

With beautiful weather, 120 tables of sellers, clubs and activities, cakes, and treats, this event was a huge success.

The JFKS Concert Choir and the RIAS Kammerchor will present a joint concert on Wednesday, May 25 at 18.30 at the Pauluskirche in Zehlendorf (Kirchstr. 6).

The concert is free, and no tickets are required. Please wear an FFP2 or medical mask during the concert. Thank you.

Der JFKS Konzertchor und der RIAS Kammerchor geben am Mittwoch, den 25. Mai um 18.30 Uhr ein gemeinsames Konzert in der Pauluskirche in Zehlendorf (Kirchstr. 6).

Der Eintritt zum Konzert ist frei, es werden keine Karten benötigt. Bitte tragen Sie während des Konzerts eine FFP2 oder medizinische Maske. Vielen Dank!

Our JFKS 3rd grade swim team won first place in the Steglitz/ Zehlendorf competition! Now they will represent our district at the Berlin Finals in June!

Who: All JFKS Students, Families and Friends, 3G Rule Applies 

Spectrum of Discrimination is a School with Courage / Schule ohne Rassismus Project with sponsorship from the JFKS Verein.

This project shares some students’ experiences at JFKS in hopes of creating awareness and bringing about healing and equitable change to our school community. Through the artistic representation by Professional Photographer and JFKS Mom, Nura Qureshi, you are invited to interact with these stories and engage with the intersectionality of topics that arise. 

The Exhibition Opening is a community event open to the JFKS Community at large, come and go from 4-8pm. What you can expect:

• Art Exhibition by professional photographer and JFKS mom, Nura Qureshi (Artwork will also be available for purchase)
• Information fair from Student & Equity Interest Groups of JFKS 
• Food and drinks sold by various student groups 
• The Verein is hosting 3 Raffles for great prizes (like Dinner for 4 at the Brew Dog, Lazer Tag, and a basket of USA candy) 
• A scavenger hunt/ Schnitzeljagd for all Elementary/High School students to complete for entry into the student raffle prize. 
• Student Art and Musical performances
• A short official opening to the Exhibition at 18:30 in the Aula.
• The JFKS School Shop will be open!

This is an event for families, students, parents, friends and alumni of JFKS.

We look forward to seeing you there and hope you will be a part of this fun and eye opening community and family event!
