Public Transportation

BVG (Berlin Public Transportation)
Berlin Public transportation including bus, subway (U-Bahn) and city train (S-Bahn) is safe and reliable. Many older students take it by themselves before and after school. The nearest train station is S-Bahnhof Zehlendorf (Line S1), the nearest bus stops are Schönower Park (Bus 285) and Schweizerhofpark (Buses 285 and X10); both stops are located directly in front of the school on both sides of the ramp. Monthly BVG student and sibling tickets
For students taking public transportation on a regular basis, the BVG offers a monthly student ticket for a special price and for each additional sibling one for an even more reduced price. In order to obtain these monthly tickets students need a BVG Photo ID which is available at special ticket spots, e.g. at the Rathaus Steglitz or Krumme Lanke U-Bahn station. They need to bring a school ID (available at the ES and HS office, please bring a passport photo) and a passport photo. With this BVG Photo ID they are then entitled to use the special students or sibling tickets which can be bought individually every month or as a year-long subscription. The subscription reduces the price even further, the money is taken out of a bank account every month and the tickets (6th months at a time) are mailed to the home address. The subscription forms are available at the special ticket spots mentioned above and can be filled out and turned in right away.
